"Baglan" Mini Juice Production Plant Opens in Osh Region
On April 17, the grand opening of the "Baglan Municipal Mini Juice Plant" took place in Baglan village, Kulatov Ayil Aimak, Nookat district, Osh Oblast. The event was attended by the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in Osh Oblast, E. N. Dzhantaev.
The facility was established by the Baglan cooperative, which previously received funding under the CASA-1000 Community Support Project. The total cost of the subproject was 7,947,000 soms, including a 387,000 som contribution from the Aiyl Okmotu, and 7,560,000 soms provided by CASA-1000 CSP for the purchase of fruit processing and juice production equipment. In addition, the Baglan cooperative invested 7,000,000 soms of its own funds to construct the factory building, drill a water well, and install water purification equipment.
The project has created 24 jobs, with 50% of the positions filled by women and youth. The factory's operations are also expected to contribute to an increase in the region’s gross product.
Importantly, “Baglan” is a climate-resilient initiative, incorporating technologies such as drip irrigation and erosion control through the planting of additional fruit trees.
As a reminder, the CASA-1000 Community Support Project was successfully completed in December 2024. Its main goal was to engage local communities in the development of social and economic infrastructure, improving services and expanding economic opportunities for women and youth in the Batken, Jalal-Abad, and Osh Oblasts located along the CASA-1000 transmission line.
