The World Bank mission for the implementation of RED and RED2 Projects

On March 19-24, 2025, the World Bank conducted mission for the implementation of the Regional Economic Development Project in the Osh region and Osh city and the Second Regional Economic Development Project in the Batken region.  

During the implementation mission, the mission members carried out a number of meetings. The mission was led by Tolkun Jukusheva, Senior Disaster Risk Management Specialist, and Tengiz Gogotishvili, Senior Urban Development Specialist, and supported by other team members.  

On the part of the implementing agency – ARIS, the mission was attended by Mars Naspekov, Executive Director, Asel Mambetkulova, Deputy Executive Director, Aibek Kadyrov, Project Coordinator, and project team.

The mission discussed the progress of projects and agreed on the ways forward for the implementation of the projects. They also touched on the issues of cooperation with the involved parties, including the consultants, partners, and contracting organizations, and reviewed the methods of improving the efficiency of the project implementation.

During the mission, the WB and ARIS teams jointly visited Osh and Batken regions and inspected the progress of the implementation of projects, monitored the work on site, and estimated the quality of completed work. In particular, the representatives of the bank reviewed the progress of construction and assembling work on social and infrastructure sites and discussed the work schedules for the upcoming phases of the project implementation.  

After the meeting, the parties expressed their willingness to continue collaborating to achieve the project's targets and indicators, and to resolve issues and tasks jointly and promptly.

RED and RED2 Projects initiated by the Cabinet of Ministers of the KR are funded by the World Bank and implemented by ARIS.
