The World Bank mission to support the implementation of the RED-2 and RED projects has started
Bishkek, November 11, 2025.
A World Bank mission was launched aimed at supporting the implementation of the “Second Regional Economic Development Project in the Batken Region” (RED-2) and the “Regional Economic Development Project in the Osh Region and Osh City” (RED). The mission takes place from November 10 to November 19, 2025.
The main goal of the mission is to assess the current progress of projects, discuss the results achieved, and determine further steps to improve the efficiency of implementation of measures aimed at sustainable development of the regions.
The mission included leading World Bank experts in the areas of urban and rural development, disaster risk management, agriculture, environmental protection, procurement and social development. The mission was led by Mr. Tengiz Gogotishvili, Senior Urban Development Specialist, and Ms. Tolkun Zhukusheva, Senior Disaster Risk Management Specialist.
Gulmira Dzhumabekova, coordinator of the RED-2 project, Aibek Kadyrov, coordinator of the RED project, as well as specialists from the project teams, also take part in the implementation of the mission.
As part of the mission program, meetings are planned with ARIS management, representatives of local governments and contractors, as well as visits to construction and infrastructure sites in the cities of Osh, Uzgen, Batken, Kadamjay and Razzakov.
During the visits, issues related to the implementation of construction work, preparation of design estimates, compliance with environmental and social standards, procurement procedures, and the implementation of Small Grants Program activities will be considered.
