Site Visit of the World Bank Officials: Monitoring Infrastructure Facilities in Chui
January 24, 2026. Representatives of the World Bank visited sites in Chui Region, to monitor implementation progress of projects aimed at livelihoods improvement.
The Bank team included
- Felipe Goya, Regional Procurement Manager for South Asia Region;
- Chzhentou Lu, Procurement Manager for Central Asia;
- Irina Goncharova, Sr Procurement Specialist.
The Kyrgyz Republic’s Community Development and Investment Agency was represented by
- Asel Mambetkulova, Deputy Executive Director;
- Erlan Korchubai uulu, Project Coordinator; and
- Nurlanbek Niayzbekov, HSIP Coordinator.
Also, the specialists of the World Bank Country Office and ARIS project team members took part in the visits.
During the site visits, World Bank team reviewed the progress of civil works in subproject Kaiyrma as part of the water supply rehabilitation project, and kindergarten No.5 “Altyn Balalyk” retrofitted by the Heat Supply Improvement Project.
As part of the water supply subproject, the delegation visited water intake and a household that received sanitation improvement incentive subgrant.
Further, the visit continued in secondary school in Kaiyrma Village where sanitation facilities were improved including the construction of indoor toilets and outdoor discharge (septic) tank. Moreover, canteen at the school was renovated through the Third Village Investment Project as part of activities for facilitation safe and comfortable environment for students.
The World Bank and ARIS representatives also familiarized themselves with outcomes from energy efficiency measures implemented at kindergarten No.5 “Altyn Balalyk” in Novopokrovka Village. The works included comprehensive measures for heat insulation, replacement of windows / doors, upgrading of heating and ventilations systems and improvement of seismic stability of the kindergarten building. In addition, indoor toilets were renovated thus improving the environment in the kindergarten.
It should be noted that these projects are implemented with the support from the World Bank and the Cabinet of Ministers.
