As part of the implementation of Component 2 of the National Community Initiatives Project (NCIP) – “Local Economic Development and Livelihood Opportunities for Women and Youth” – a meeting of the Selection Committee for the selection of Aiyl Aimaks to implement economic subprojects was held on March 25 - 26. The meeting was conducted with a live online broadcast.
The Selection Committee included representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, the State Agency for Civil Service and Local Self-Government under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Community Development and Investment Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic (ARIS), the Academy of Local Governance of Central Asia, as well as the public association “OVOP.”

At the same time, at least 15 selected Aiyl Aimaks will receive funding.
The investment grants to be provided will be directed toward expanding economic opportunities, creating conditions for starting or scaling up businesses, and generating new jobs for women, youth, and vulnerable groups.
The economic subprojects must be implemented in accordance with the “One Village – One Product” concept and should focus on priority value chains of local raw materials, as identified through previously conducted studies.
On March 26, the results of the competition among target NCIP Aiyl Aimaks were finalized, with 37 Aiyl Aimaks participating. The full list of selected Aiyl Aimaks is available at the following link: https://op1.aris.kg/news/view/8
